Blue Stripe

Jackson tested for his Blue Stripe (on the green belt) in Tae Kwon Do.  This test has been a long time coming - their last testing was in March!  This was his most difficult test so far, but he did well and earned his Blue Stripe.  This video clip  is of him breaking the board with a flying front snap kick. Though it was a good evening, it was a long evening.  We were at the Do Jang from 6:00 pm until after 9:30pm!!  Ugh.  Nothing like going through Burger King drive thru at almost 10:00 pm to let you know you won’t be sleeping well!   :)  But we hadn’t eaten much before testing because we were planning to celebrate afterwards.  No other testing has ever taken this long - but they had over 20 people testing and it just drug on and on.

I did get so tickled at Jackson that afternoon while he was practicing some of his Ho Sin Sol on me.  I was kidding him about practicing a choke-hold on me, saying “I can see my life flash before my eyes”.... he said “Mom, that happens to me all the time at Tae Kwon Do practice.... that’s when I realize I haven’t spent enough time at the library.”  Ha!  It actually took me a second to “get it”!  :) Quite the dry wit, my boy!  :)
