It must be a Monday...

It sure does feel like a Monday.  We began the day by calling the dentist to see if he could work Marvin in this morning.... Marvin broke a tooth eating dinner last night.  The good news was that they could work him in - there had been a boatload of cancellations because of the heavy fog.  The bad news, of course, was the $840 price tag.  Ouch.  That was definitely not in the budget for this month.  Periodically we will try to find a dental insurance plan that is actually worth the cost - and we have yet to discover one.  Even our dentist tells us that he really doesn’t think dental insurance is very helpful regarding cost versus coverage.  But, it surely makes going to the dentist much more painful than it need be.  What do those of you who are “self employed” out there do for dental insurance?  What are your experiences with the coverage and whether it is worth it long term?  We are trying to make some decisions and would appreciate any input you might have.

Poor Anna has the flu... the achy, feverish, totally miserable flu.  Julie called me this morning to let me know Anna was hunkered down at home miserable.  Poor thing.  Hopefully Julie won’t get it and Anna will be up and around soon.  I am still feeling fairly lousy, but not as bad as Anna!  I did make myself go to Walmart to get all the “sicky” necessities just in case the flu visits our house, too.  By the time I made my way through that place I was truly knocked out.... so we just got some carry out Chinese food and are all in our jammies ready to call it an early night.  Time to put Monday to bed!

On my way to Walmart I took a few pictures of the boys enjoying the balmy (for January) temps outside.  The snow that fell yesterday (all 4 inches of it) was pretty much melted and gone by this afternoon - but there were still a few clumps to be found.... and made into snowballs.   :)  Here are a few pictures…..

Jonathan had just gotten big brother with a huge snowball and was having a big chuckle

Bwaahahaha

Uh, Oh...... he’s getting snow....

What goes around comes around!!!

Uh oh.... looks like they’re aiming at me!!

I love those photos! So DID he get him with that rather LARGE snowball??? ;-)
I have no help with insurance. We only have it for our boys until they turn 12 & my hubby & I have none. In fact, this year we HAVE to get to the dentist as we haven't in about three years. I'm nervous as to what they may find. ::sigh::

Looks like they're having great fun. The weather was wonderful.
We're self-employed, and have never had dental insurance. I don't know about the cost, but if the experience is anything like reg. health insurance, what we save in premiums will pay for any expenses it would have covered. No help here. Sorry.

We are switching over to carry our own health insurance and dental insurance was an option that we could add to it. You might want to see if that's available with your existing health ins. policy. (We declined to add it on.)

Cool pics. I love how the lit up barn door shows in the background.
