More in Oklahoma (or Rachel and Stephen cont.)

As a continuation of my previous post about my dear niece Rachel’s wedding to her sweetheart Stephen, here are a few more pictures and stories from the day.

One truly special guest to the wedding was Aunt Aleta (Mom’s sister) who flew in all the way from Mississippi.  We picked her up at the airport in KC on our way through heading to Oklahoma.  I know it meant so much to Rachel and Stephen that she made all that effort to attend.  And the rest of us were blessed by her visit, too!

As I mentioned, the wedding was outdoors in a lovely meadow behind some houses right across the street from Rachel and Stephen’s church.  It was quite a sight to see hundreds of folks all dressed up trekking across the street and through the meadow to the site of the wedding.   :)

Notice we brought our own cooler filled with bottles of water!   :)

But, it was all worth it - the wedding site was peaceful and lovely. A perfect spot!

After the wedding we headed back across the street and into the church for the reception.  (Good thing... the temperature was steadily climbing toward its high for the day of 105 degrees!!)  We got to eat some yummy food and then everyone got to dance the morning away! (10:00 am wedding!)  :)  Jackson was thrilled to demonstrate his swing dancing skills with Rachel.

Rachel and Stephen had a very special first dance...

Dear Stephen had been practicing and practicing for the big day.  It was lovely!

Hal (Stephen’s Dad) transferring the “cool” after the reception.   This was absolutely hysterical!!!!

After the reception Stephen’s wonderful parents allowed us all to invade their home for some gift unwrapping.  Can I just say again how MUCH we enjoyed getting to know Hal and Beverly!  They are terrific folks - we see where Stephen gets it.   :)  While at Hal and Beverly’s we were surprised with a phone call from James (from Okinawa).  What a pleasure to be able to talk with him.  That made the day more special for all.

It was a beautiful day all around. Congratulations Rachel and Stephen! We love you both!
