Wow! All I can say is “what took me so long?” I had heard about this book series before, but just
never really gave it any thought. I realize now that I have been stuck in a “reading rut” for so
long..... the only fiction I have read in the past year has been my good ole “cozy mysteries”.
However, I was running out of titles by authors that I like in the cozy mystery genre and so when I
went to the library just before going to the state fair, I decided to “go crazy” and try something
new! :) I chose The Yada Yada Prayer Group - and am I glad that I did!
This book was wonderful and I now look forward to reading all the rest in the series. (Isn’t it a great feeling to be at the beginning of a new series that you are really excited about? Knowing you have lots of great books ahead of you!!!) Anyway, I took it along on the trip and quickly began carrying it with me just so I could read snippets here and there during our days at the fair. (Escaping the extreme heat by ducking into the Mathewson Center each afternoon provided me with many great reading opportunities.) This book made me laugh out loud, was both inspiring and convicting, and even made me cry while sitting on the 2nd row in the middle of a huge crowd at the Team Penning Competition! :)
This book caused me to recall fond memories of the remarkable group of women that used to meet at my home for our weekly Ladies’ Bible Study. There have been so many changes in the 2 years since that group last met (people moving away, new babies born, new Bible study groups formed, etc.) but I can truly relate to the deep relationships that can develop between women who gather together regularly to praise and worship God and grow in their faith. No matter what, these ladies will always be a part of my heart and my life (even if it is only long distance). I am so thankful that I got to be a part of our own “Yada Yada Prayer Group” - even if just for a little while.
