A Relaxing Weekend

Jackson, Jennifer, Jonathan and Anna

This has been a nice weekend - sort of a slow, relaxing, end of summer weekend. We needed that! It began with my Mom’s Night Out group meeting for our monthly dinner Friday night, then Jennifer came up on Saturday for the rest of the weekend. Jackson had his buddy Adrian over to play on Saturday.... it had been a month since they had seen each other because of their vacation and our vacation. All the boys and Jennifer played baseball in the yard. It was only about 83∘- soooooo much nicer than the 90’s to 100’s we have been having. We then turned a blind eye to all the chores and jobs we had on our plate and watched movies Saturday afternoon and evening. What a lovely “waste” of time! :)

We met at Mom and Dad’s for lunch on Sunday with Julie and Anna. It was nice to be together, but we really missed James. Family dinners just aren’t the same without him. :( But we enjoyed being together and having Jennifer join us (like old times!!). After lunch we spent some time trying to sort through old family photos and label them with year, location, “who is that?”, etc. I am so glad that our photos from the last decade or so have the date built in to the photo! What a difference that makes! It also makes me realize how important it is to label “who” is in your photos... just because we know it now doesn’t mean we will know it 10 years from now!

Now it is quiet again and I am going to try to work up the menu for the week, read a bit and go to bed early. :) Wish me luck!!!
