Appliances - Ugh!

Well, Daddy and Marvin installed our new dishwasher and microwave today. I am really not liking this whole “disposable appliances” thing. In April our 3 year old washing machine conked out - spewing oil into the wash cycle. Then our dishwasher (which literally had a twisty tie holding the top rack together) was part of a recall for a fire hazard. Then, just before we left for the fair, our microwave started smoking and then quit working completely. The dishwasher and microwave were only 7 years old. Our refrigerator in the mud room is making funny noises and leaking a bit of water.... ugh. However, the 2nd range that I have in my mud room (which was Mom’s) is over 40 years old and still going strong!!! Then, when we got home from the fair we noticed a VERY loud noise when our house air conditioner kicked on.... called for a repair and were told that the fan motor for the whole heating/air unit is on its last legs (also just 7 years old!). We are hoping that it holds out a few more months at least....

They truly don’t make things like they used to.... ugh.
