Canada Lapbook

This was the second lapbook Jackson made. We enjoyed our study of Canada - broadening it to include Alaska, the Arctic, Inuits, etc. We watched the old documentary Nanook of the North during this time and I have to say, that was an incredibly interesting (and at times, slightly disturbing) movie. Jackson and I still vividly remember it. We can no longer get it at our public library.... they got rid of all materials published before a certain year several years ago (don’t even get me started on THAT fiasco!!) but I did find out we can rent it from Netflix. So we plan to get it and watch it again this time around.

Here are pictures of the Canada lapbook.

Jackson came up with this idea to make a puzzle of the map of Canada. He cut up a map, laminated the pieces, then made the puzzle using pieces of Velcro. Pretty cool idea. Next picture showing old currency & STOP sign in Inuit language.

Here is what is under the flap with the Maple Leaf. 2 booklets about Inuit life and Arctic animals.

Flags! Did I mention Jackson liked flags??? :) Flags of all the Canadian provinces.

Jonathan actually did make his own little lapbook for Canada, too...... Of course, he was a little bitty guy at the time!  Here it is -
