Happy Birthday, Marvin!

Last night we enjoyed a wonderful family dinner celebrating Marvin's birthday (even though we were a day early... TODAY is his birthday!)  :)  Jennifer was able to come up for the evening as were Jim and Linda.  Add in our group here 'on the hill' and we had a very special evening indeed!

Marvin chose the menu and we had garlic/herb chicken, baked potatoes (both sweet and white), broccoli, fruit salad, winter fruit salad, wild rice (for Jonathan!), homemade dinner rolls, and Mom's sugar free apple pie.  Yum!  We do love celebrating birthdays around here!  :)

One of the most special parts of the evening was when Jim presented Marvin with a birthday poem.  You can see a short video clip of Jim reading the poem aloud at this link.

We also decided to write all over the tablecloth.  The boys were very excited by this news!  I plan to keep the tablecloth on for several weeks during the holiday season so that we can all keep adding to it.  Don't worry, I will wash it between uses.  :)  Here is a sampling of what is on there as of last night...

Ha! Actually, when we have more than 8 or 10 we add a 2nd table at the end of the main one. That is what we did that night. But, we specifically made the dining room very large so that we could do just that... and we seem to do it quite regularly! :)
