This isn’t so much a recipe as an endorsement. :) One of our favorite meals is pulled pork sandwiches slow cooked with Maurice’s Barbecue sauce. Now, if you live in South Carolina you likely can purchase all of this yummy stuff that you want. If you, like me, live anywhere else - you will have to order it online. And trust me, you WILL want to get this sauce - any way you have to! It is a mustard based barbecue sauce and we were first introduced to it (years ago) when my sister lived in Columbia, SC and took us to a restaurant called “Piggie Park”. Yes, that was actually the name. But the name didn’t matter - we were hooked! After she left the state of SC we began to group together and order the sauce by the case. :)
To make the BBQ we just put a pork roast in a slow cooker or a Pampered Chef stone combo (base with lid), pour about 2/3 of a bottle of Maurices sauce over the top and then cook it all day until the meat falls apart. At that point spoon out the meat, drain out the juice/fat, then return the meat to the cooker and pour the rest of the sauce in. Usually, we will open another bottle and add even more sauce at this point. :) Heat through and serve on buns. (I like to add pickles.) Even plain old hamburger buns are good with this barbecue - it is THAT GOOD!
Here is where you get this yummy stuff....
And this is what it looks like....
